As we approach the end of the year, we invite all our class members and anyone over 18 to celebrate with us at Salsa Bristol’s final event before the Christmas break. It is the perfect way to wrap up 2025 with music, movement, and a warm, friendly atmosphere.

A Festive Night of Dance

We will finish our final week of classes with a fun, social evening open to dancers of all levels.
The night begins at 8pm with a beginner-level Rueda class. This is an ideal chance to meet students from other groups, try something new, and enjoy the lively, connected style that makes Rueda such a great party dance.

From 8.45pm until 10pm, the floor opens for social dancing, complete with line-ups, laughter, and plenty of opportunities to practise your moves in a relaxed, festive setting.

We'd like to take the opportunity to welcome a new member to the Salsa Bristol team — Tom Pugh!

Tom joined our beginner's course in the summer of 2022 and quickly impressed us with his eagerness to learn and help. He is fast becoming an excellent dancer and will be getting more involved in assisting Clare and Andy in teaching classes in 2025.

Our final regular class for 2024 will be held on Monday, 2nd December. The final beginners' class will run as usual, but we'll have a Rueda class at 8pm for all levels, so beginners are welcome to join, followed by social dancing until 10pm.

We then close for a well-earned break over the holidays for when we return in the New Year!

Going to your first Salsa social/party event can be daunting and even a little overwhelming for the uninitiated.

So, here are a few tips on how to survive and get the most out of your first social, along with a few Dos and Don’ts.

Check with your dance school.

Most dance schools will run their own social events, so check with the dance school or club you attend for your classes/lessons. Many of the people you already know from these classes will be attending (or will also want to), so you will see familiar faces and have already danced with them.

You can also ask the teachers or other students for other recommendations, and even arrange to attend an event with others in a similar situation. Often, there are more experienced students who are willing to take newbies along to an event, and they, in turn, will introduce you to

Update:
We will be having two nights in one to make up for the missing night on the 19th starting at 6 pm. More details below.

Due to the sad passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, our venue will be closed for her funeral on Monday, the 19^th. Obviously, this means there will be no classes this week.

We will be open again as usual on Monday the 26^th.

If you know anyone who had planned on going, please make them aware, saving them a potentially wasted journey.

We are delighted to announce that from Monday 1st November Salsa classes will be running every Monday at the top floor function room at the Imperial Sports Ground (used to be known as South Bristol Sports Centre).

There have been a number of changes not least the venue and day we run classes. Sadly, due to the effects of the lockdowns because of Covid have had an effect on the club and with the virus still very much present in all our lives this will ultimately have an effect on the numbers of customers we see come through our doors. Although we hope our many loyal supporters will still be able to come and join us it does mean that until things improve, we cannot run our normal 6 classes on an evening, and this has led to us having to lose our wonderful higher-level teacher Alex Fright for the

As much as we love dancing and passing that on to others, we have been very aware of the health and well-being of ourselves and our students.

We are meeting up at the end of September to discuss the way forward, and we will update you as soon as decisions have been made and we know more.

Oh my days, can you believe it!? November is nearly at an end which can only mean one thing! The Salsa Bristol Christmas Party night is nearly upon us again! Yes, that's right it's time to raid the wardrobe for a sparkly outfit or go in search through the Christmas decorations for that hidden Santa Costume you hide from the kids every year!

This year it will be held on Thursday 13th December at our new venue St Gerard Majella Church Hall in Knowle and as always everyone, whether you're a regular to the classes or not, is invited to join us. More details can be found on our Facebook Event and website.

With our current course coming to an end this Thursday the 29th November, we have an extra week before our Christmas Party Night which lands on Thursday 6th December. We have the honour of having Neville Ashman
