If you’re looking to learn one of the most popular and versatile Latin dances on the social dance floor, then you’ve come to the right place! Bachata has been popular in the UK dance scene for years and continues to gain popularity.
With many styles to choose from, you really are spoilt for choice on the dance floor.
The dance originates from the Dominican Republic and has been known as the lovers’ dance because of its closeness and sensual connections, which complement the many, many beautiful tracks to which it’s danced
This 8-week beginner’s course is designed for anyone with little to no experience in Bachata and aims to give you a good understanding of the basic footwork, body movement, timings, leading and following techniques. We will focus mainly on traditional Western and Dominican styles of bachata. However, we will also look at how you can introduce elements of tango, sensual (exaggerated body movements and closer connections) and Moderna (salsa manoeuvres) styles into your fundamentals.
