Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement - Classes suspended

Please note this post has now been superseded and won't be updated further - we have been back and open since the 1st of November 2021. See later blog posts for further announcements for classes and any potential disruption.

Current update - 8th September 2021

We hope you are all doing well.

As much as we love dancing and passing that on to others, we have been very aware of the health and well-being of ourselves and our students.

We are meeting up at the end of September to discuss the way forward, and we will update you as soon as decisions have been made and we know more.

Updates and announcements will be made in due course in the newsletter, on here and on Facebook.

Update - 1st May 2021

It’s been over a year since we held our last “in person” salsa classes in Knowle and entered the first lockdown shortly after.

So, to give you a quick update – we are still all here; Clare, Andy, Alex, Wayne and Bill. We, like most people, are all waiting for things to get back to something like normal.

As for classes opening up again, yes, we are currently still planning to come back. However, exactly when this is, we cannot say, primarily due to salsa (and bachata, etc.) being a close contact partner dance, so it will be later than solo dances where people can keep their distance from each other. It all depends upon how things progress with Covid, how well the vaccines work and what guidelines the government provide. We are currently “guestimating” (our best guess) that this will be at the end of summer 2021 at the very earliest.

As much as we want to start dancing again, we won’t rush back and put the health of our students and ourselves at risk.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement - last update 15th March 2020

It’s with heavy hearts that we have decided to join most local Latin dance schools in suspending dance classes until the risk from Coronavirus (COVID-19) has passed.

This decision hasn’t been taken lightly. We didn’t want to make an ill-informed decision or act rashly in response to the events reported in the press around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. And we did consider continuing, enforcing some strict rules.

But after much soul-searching, we feel that the only real, and best, option for students and teachers is to suspend classes until the risk of infection has passed. Hopefully, this will only be a few short weeks.

We hope you understand our decision and will be patient and join us again when we resume classes.

We may still be able to carry out private lessons but this will under some strict guidelines and will be reviewed frequently.

Please contact us if you have any questions or are interested in private lessons.
