Our students often ask us what dance shoes to get and where to get them. So, here are a few tips:

1) The best advice we can give you when starting out is, don’t go for ridiculously high-priced shoes, especially if you’re not attending socials and are only attending classes. Prices vary massively.

2) Ladies, if you’re looking for a heel, you will find many dance shoes come with a choice in heel height, and we always recommend going no higher than a 2.5-inch heel when you first start out. The heels will come in varying shapes depending on their height.

We are delighted to announce that from Monday 1st November Salsa classes will be running every Monday at the top floor function room at the Imperial Sports Ground (used to be known as South Bristol Sports Centre).

There have been a number of changes not least the venue and day we run classes. Sadly, due to the effects of the lockdowns because of Covid have had an effect on the club and with the virus still very much present in all our lives this will ultimately have an effect on the numbers of customers we see come through our doors. Although we hope our many loyal supporters will still be able to come and join us it does mean that until things improve, we cannot run our normal 6 classes on an evening, and this has led to us having to lose our wonderful higher-level teacher Alex Fright for the

Oh my days, can you believe it!? November is nearly at an end which can only mean one thing! The Salsa Bristol Christmas Party night is nearly upon us again! Yes, that's right it's time to raid the wardrobe for a sparkly outfit or go in search through the Christmas decorations for that hidden Santa Costume you hide from the kids every year!

At the beginning of the month, we had to close due to the Beast from the East showering us with heavy snow and blowing in icy winds causing many places including South Bristol Sports Centre to close! We haven't had to close our doors since 2010 again which was due to heavy snow and icy conditions.

Although it was only for that one week, I sure did miss my friendly, funny students and having a few dances. Thankfully round 2 of Beast from the East this week missed our Thursday evenings, so I'm very relieved not to be missing everyone and keeping myself fit and warm!

This week BBC Radio Bristol have been in touch with us again to join them on their radio show this Saturday at 10 am to talk about Salsa and the benefits of dancing. I will be joining DJ Phil Hammond on Saturday with this being my 5th time talking about Salsa on the radio.
