Karen comes from a family
of dancers, amongst whom was her grandmother who used to
teach all the latest dances and a cousin who was a world
famous choreographer. With family roots that are so
firmly based in dancing it is no wonder that she started Ballet aged just 3 years. Throughout her teens
Karen learnt Latin American and Ballroom and by her
early 20's she was partnering a professional and helping to
teach these styles.
In 2003, Karen discovered
salsa and jumped at the opportunity to learn a new Latin
style and it was not long before she started to help out in
the classes with Burning salsa. This spurred Karen to
resume her Ballroom dancing and she again now dances this
at competition level.
In November 2006, Karen
decided to take her professional teaching qualifications
with the UKA which she passed with ease and is now qualified
to teach; Salsa, Cha-cha, Bachata, Merengue and La Rueda.
Presently, Karen is working towards a qualification to teach
Ballroom.
Karen gets enormous
satisfaction from seeing her pupils develop and enjoying
themselves on the dance floor.
