Shirene Solak
Shirene Solak was born in Edinburgh and raised in Turkey. She's an independent dancer, teacher and choreographer, specialising in Bellydancing, Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton, Burlesque and more recently has fallen in love with Kizomba. Shirene began her dance career in her early 20s, and she soon realised that dancing gives her great satisfaction and enjoyment. Initially her passion to teach surfaced progressively, but the demands for her dance skills gave her the inspiration and confidence to start teaching dance and also to perform. Her first ever Belly dance performance was in the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2005, followed by the University of Greenwich dance society where she was the founder, teacher and performer. Shirene spent the following year performing in London's top Turkish, Greek and Moroccan restaurants, as well as having been invited to special events such as weddings, birthdays and hen parties. Shirene also gives private belly dance lessons, and has appeared as a guest teacher and performer at various events in UK, such as Bachata Sensual festival by Tony Lara and BarSalsa's Sunday Salsa Extravaganza. Internationally she has performed various dance styles in Turkey, including Salsa, Reggaeton and Belly dancing. Apart from dancing Shirene likes to keep fit and also holds a degree in BSc Sports Science. Now her mission is to spread her love and passion for dance to others, whether it be for fun and/or keeping-fit... |
