Alex Fright
Alex (The Hat) Fright Alex has been dancing Salsa for around seven years and teaching for the past four of these. He has spent most of this time in the South of England where he is a familiar face. This maybe not just because he is a fantastic dancer with an elegant lead, or the fact that he has a good following from his students, but also the fact that as his title suggests - he loves to wear hats! Fortunately for the Latino dancers in the South West, Alex has recently moved to Bristol from Bournemouth. There he held Intermediate and Advanced weekly classes for our friend Neville at Latino Beat. Last year (2010), he was also part of Gil & Shelley Cook's performance group (a very high profile Salsa team) performing all over the country including; Mambocity, London Latinfest (La Scala) and GBSEx congress! Alex's first love and preference of style is to dance LA Cross Body ON1, but he can also dance ON2, as well as holding his own with many Cubans. "I teach LA Cross Body on 1. That's what I specialise in and more importantly, what I love. The intricacy of moves, style and (of course) flair! This is what I aim for when teaching my students. I like to be explicit in the detail when teaching ('Guys! Right hand low, left hand high, right foot on the line on 5!' etc!). I also aim to bring routines that are suitably challenging". "What I get out of teaching is to have a laugh with my students and make the class interactive - otherwise what's the point, eh!" Welcome to Bristol Alex! |
